Patients who attended healthcare clinics equipped with an electronic medical records system that prompted healthcare provider to either “accept” or “reject” a flu shot order were more likely to receive an influenza vaccination.

Impact:

Results showed a 6% increase compared to clinics that did not use the alert system, representing a 37% relative increase in vaccinations from the prior year.
